Role of Radiologic Imaging in Otosclerosis

Abstract Purpose of Review To review the role imaging in otosclerosis with an emphasis on pre- and post-operative evaluation. Recent Findings Pre-operative CT can help define extent bone involvement may avoid surgical complications due to variant anatomy or unsuspected alternative causes conductive hearing loss. In patients recurrent loss after surgery, clarify prosthesis position re-assess anatomy. Summary complements otologic exam audiometry findings suspected otosclerosis, for pre-operative planning, assessment symptoms.
